Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Tod Recipes (todrecipes.com) collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and specific. If anything is unclear, the Contact Us page tells you how to reach us.
The Short Version
- You can browse every recipe without creating an account or giving us any personal information.
- We receive personal data only if you send a message through the contact form, submit a rating or comment, or simply visit the site (which creates standard server logs).
- We use contact-form messages only to reply to you.
- Raw visit records in our own statistics are deleted after 7 days; only daily totals are kept.
- We do not sell your personal information.
What Information We Collect
Contact form
When you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and the message you type. We use this information only to read your message and reply to it.
Recipe ratings and comments
If you leave a rating or comment on a recipe, we receive your name and the text you submit. Comments may be displayed publicly on the recipe page, so please do not include information you would not want others to read, such as your email address, phone number or home address.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server automatically records standard technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, your browser type and the pages you requested. We use these logs for security and troubleshooting, for example to spot abusive traffic or find the cause of a technical error.
Visit statistics
We run first-party visit statistics on our own server. They record which page was viewed and the referrer (the site that sent you to us). We use this to understand which recipes are being read so we can improve the site. Raw visit records are kept for 7 days and are then replaced by daily totals that do not describe individual visitors.
Service Providers and Third-Party Links
Cloudflare
Cloudflare delivers our pages through its network and provides security filtering. When you visit the site, your request, including your IP address, passes through Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to its handling of that data.
We link to our social profile on Pinterest. If you follow a link and visit Pinterest, that service collects data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We recommend reading it before you use the service.
Advertising providers
At the time of this update, this policy does not describe any advertising or ad-personalization provider on Tod Recipes. If we add one in the future, we will name it here, explain what it collects and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are used. If you want to review how Google personalizes ads in general, you can use Google Ads Settings and read about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How We Use Your Information
- To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
- To display and moderate ratings and comments.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix technical problems.
- To understand which recipes and categories are read most, so we can improve the site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it.
Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Visitors)
If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on these legal bases:
- Consent for any non-essential cookies or similar technologies, where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawing does not affect processing that happened before.
- Legitimate interests for server logs, security and first-party visit statistics, because keeping a website secure, working and useful is a reasonable interest that does not override your rights.
- Our response to your request for contact-form messages and comments, which you send us voluntarily and which we process to answer you or publish what you submitted.
How Long We Keep Data
- Raw visit records in our own statistics: 7 days, after which only daily totals remain.
- Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
- Contact-form messages: kept as long as needed to reply to you and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
- Ratings and comments: kept while they remain on the recipe page, or until you ask us to remove them.
Your Rights Under the GDPR and UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:
- ask for access to the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to certain processing;
- ask for a copy of your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, write to us through the Contact Us page. Because we do not require accounts, we may ask you for details such as the name or comment text you submitted so we can find the right records.
Your Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
- request deletion of personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, use the Contact Us page. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Children's Privacy
Tod Recipes is a general-audience cooking site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form or a comment, please tell us through the Contact Us page and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the data we hold, including security filtering through Cloudflare. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information, such as payment details or health records, through the contact form or in comments.
International Visitors
Tod Recipes can be read from anywhere, and the providers we use, such as Cloudflare, operate internationally. This means your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the safeguards offered by our providers.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or the law change, for example if we add a new service. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally. Our Terms of Use and About Us pages give more background on the site.
