Ingredients:

  • 9 lb bone-in spiral-sliced ham
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup clover honey
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the ham cut-side down on a rack in a large roasting pan.
  2. Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the pan. Cover the pan tightly with two layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil to seal in moisture.
  3. Bake the ham for approximately 12–14 minutes per pound (about 1 hour 30 minutes for a 9lb ham) until the internal temperature reaches 110°F.
  4. While the ham warms, combine honey, dark brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, cloves, and smoked paprika in a small saucepan.
  5. Simmer the glaze over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens into a syrupy consistency.
  6. Remove the ham from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 400°F (205°C). Carefully remove the foil.
  7. Brush half of the glaze generously over the ham, ensuring it gets between the slices. Return to the oven for 10-15 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and mahogany in color.
