Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • ¼ tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them into uniform 1-inch chunks. Pat them dry to ensure steam penetrates the surface evenly.
  2. Fill a pot with 1 cup of water, ensuring the level is below the bottom of the steamer basket. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Place the sweet potato chunks into the steamer basket, cover with a tight lid, and steam for 15–20 minutes until a fork slides into the center with zero resistance.
  4. Remove potatoes from the steamer and immediately toss them in a bowl with melted butter, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
