Ingredients:

  • 24 large fresh strawberries (approx. 450g)
  • 10 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (285g)
  • 2 tsp refined coconut oil (10ml)
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips (115g)
  • 2 tbsp crushed roasted pistachios or pecans (30g)
  • 1 tbsp festive red and pink sprinkles (15g)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse strawberries in cold water and pat each one individually with a paper towel. Let them air-dry on a clean towel for at least 30 minutes to ensure they are bone-dry.
  2. Place 7.5 oz (3/4) of the dark chocolate in a glass bowl. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until nearly liquid.
  3. Stir in the remaining 2.5 oz (1/4) of chocolate and the coconut oil. The residual heat will melt the solids, tempering the chocolate for a glossy finish.
  4. Hold a strawberry by the stem and dip into the chocolate. Twirl and tap the side of the bowl to remove excess.
  5. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. While wet, add nuts or sprinkles. If using a white chocolate drizzle, melt the white chocolate separately and pipe over once the base coat has set.
