Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream, chilled
- 1 cup whole milk, chilled
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chilled heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the base into a pre-frozen ice cream maker bowl. Churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until a soft-serve consistency is reached, typically 15-20 minutes.
- During the final 2 minutes of churning, slowly pour in the mini chocolate chips, allowing the machine to distribute them evenly without over-churning.
- Transfer the ice cream into an airtight container. Press a piece of parchment paper directly onto the surface to prevent ice crystals and freeze for at least 4 hours until firm.
